Local Eastern Sierra Weather Forecaster
Broadcasting for the Sierra Wave 92.5 / 96.5 FM

For the valleys, there will be a fairly stagnant pattern through Friday as an upper ridge continues to park itself over the Great Basin giving us mostly clear skies and warm temperatures. For the High Country, there will be a continued chance of scattered thunderstorms as an upper low lingers over California and provides additional mid level moisture. Yesterday a few thunderstorms did break out over the Crest but moved rapidly eastward.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies. Daytime temps in the low 90s and evening lows in the mid 50s. Southeast wind 10 mph.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny skies. Daytime temps in the lower 90s and evening lows in the mid 50s. Southeast wind 10 - 15 mph.

Today for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Mostly sunny skies becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. Chance of isolated thunderstorms. High temperature range mid 70s for the Main Lodge and mid 80s for the Mono Valleys. Low temp range 38 - 48. West wind 10 - 15 mph in the evening.

Tomorrow for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Clear skies becoming mostly cloudy in the afternoon. There will be a chance of scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. High temperature range mid 70s for the Main Lodge and mid 80s for the Mono Valleys. Low temp range 41 - 51. West wind 10 - 15 mph in the evening.

On Saturday and Sunday the High Country will see an increase in thunderstorm coverage as an Eastern Pacific trough moves into California and Nevada. Drier westerly flow returns late Sunday into Wednesday and reduces the chance of thunderstorms over the Crest. The Valley weather will remain the about the same with dry conditions prevailing.
