Lodgepole Grill Renovated...and basically, ruined!

Good ole Delaware North. If they do one thing well, it's destroy things.

YMMV, but I always liked the food at the Lodgepole Campground Grill. The pizza was really tasty and a good value, the burger was decent and reasonably priced, the Dryer's Ice Cream station served great ice cream at a great price, the sandwich shop had plenty of fresh options for everyone.

Then...Delaware North renovated. And the Grill has been gutted. No more ice cream. No more sandwich shop. No more pizza. No more chili bowl.

All they have these days is hamburgers/cheeseburgers, a few chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken strips, and fries. For breakfast, it's even worse: no more pancakes. They have oatmeal and cold muffins. Period. Oh, and the prices are 25% higher. Last year IIRC, a burger was $6.50. This year, it's $9, and my friend's review was decidedly thumbs down.

I live up in Lodgepole and I agree with you on all but one point: last year's food was just as bad, there were just more choices. And they do have breakfast burritos and a sourdough egg BLT. If you want good food in the area, Stony Creek pizza is the best option around.

I liked the pizza, but then I'm a fan of extremely salty pepperoni!

The clerk actually mentioned Stony Creek too (in hushed tones), but he couldn't say if it was any good. I remember seeing some awful pizza at the Grant Grove store (think gas station heat lamp pizza), so I wasn't willing to risk dragging my friend out to Stony on speculation alone.

What have they got at Stony Creek besides pizza? Is it like Lodgepole used to be, with options for basically anyone?

Was there the past month and didn't order anything after seeing the prices.

Regarding the pizza at Grant Grove, I have to say it was satisfying but....that was after a multi-day trip which results in everything tasting good lol
