Weather Forecast 5/21/07

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Upper level trough moving through the Pacific Northwest through Tuesday will have little impact on our weather except for some gusty northwest winds. Otherwise there will be little change in our weather today and tomorrow with a slight cool down expected. Some instability along the Crest could bring us the chance of some isolated thunderstorm activity.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Plenty of sun. Daytime temps in the mid 80s and evening lows in the mid 40s. North wind 15 - 20 with gusts of 30 mph in the afternoon.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny. Daytime temps in the lower 80s and evening lows in the mid 40s. North wind 10 - 15 with gusts of 20 mph in the afternoon.

Today for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny blue skies in the morning becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. High temperature range 60 - 70 and lows 25 - 35. Northwest wind 10 - 15 mph with gusts of 35 in the evening.

Tomorrow for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny skies. High temperature range 59 - 69 and lows 26 - 36. Northwest wind 10 mph.

Continued dry weather into Memorial Day with a few dry shortwaves passing through the area on Thursday and Sunday. This will help to moderate temperatures through the weekend keeping things at or about normal. Locally breezy conditions are expected on Thursday with the passage of the above mentioned shortwave.
