Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

A weak ridge of high pressure will build in today allowing temps to begin to increase slightly. Slight instability aloft will give the High Country the chance of thunderstorm activity on Tuesday afternoon. Otherwise, continued warm temperatures and sunny blue skies will prevail.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Plenty of sun. Daytime temps in the upper 80s and evening lows in the mid 40s. Southeast wind 10 mph becoming light in the evening.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny. Daytime temps in the upper 80s and evening lows in the mid 40s. Southeast wind 10 mph becoming light in the evening.

Today for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny blue skies. High temperature range 69 - 79 and lows 31 - 41. East wind 10 - 15 mph.

Tomorrow for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny skies becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. Possibility of isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. High temperature range 72 - 82 and lows 33 - 43. Southwest wind 10 mph.

Upper ridge shifts a bit on Thursday into Friday allowing for a slight cool down and the chance of afternoon thunderstorm activity particularly from Mammoth north. A very large ridge of high pressure builds in on Sunday and Monday starting a very warm pattern for us with temps above normal. There continues to be the possibility of an early monsoon season beginning late May into June.
