Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

Right now there is a big ridge centered off the West Coast and it will gradually shift east within the next couple of days. This will cause a warming trend through out our area with lighter winds.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny skies. Daytime temps in the lower 80s and evening lows in the mid 40s. Northwest wind 10 - 15 becoming light in the evening.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny. Daytime temps in the mid 80s and evening lows in the mid 40s. Light wind.

Today for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny blue skies. High temperature range 65 - 75 and lows 32 - 42. Northeast wind 10 - 15 mph.

Tomorrow for Mammoth & the Mono Valleys: Sunny becoming partly cloudy. Slight chance of thunderstorm activity in the afternoon. High temperature range 66 - 76 and lows 32 - 42. West wind 10 - 15 mph.

Wednesday should be the warmest day this week as that ridge continues its shift east into the Rockies and a weak trough moves onto the West Coast. Thursday and Friday will see a slight cool down in response to that trough keeping an onshore flow going into the weekend with dry conditions, moderate temperatures and afternoon winds.
