Yosemite Volunteers Needed

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Yosemite Volunteers Needed

Post by maverick »

Yosemite NP:
Every year, over 10,000 volunteers contribute their time and skills to help Yosemite! A large portion of our volunteers come to us through scheduled group projects that focus on vegetation restoration, campground clean-up, litter/ash removal, and more. We have a variety of park needs for 2018 and would love your groups’ help to get this work accomplished. You can find all the information you need for your group (5-30 people) to participate in our Group Volunteer Project Guide: https://www.nps.gov/…/ge…/supportyourpa ... unteer.htm. For entry into this year’s initial lottery, download the guide, fill out a request form, and email it to yose_volunteers@nps.gov by 11:59 pm on January 15. What will your role be in 2018?

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Have a safer backcountry experience by using the HST ReConn Form 2.0, named after Larry Conn, a HST member: http://reconn.org
