Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

An upper level trough is currently off the Pacific Northwest coast and will affect our area on Wednesday into Thursday giving the High Country a chance of precipt along with high winds. The Owens Valley will also have the possibility of a Wind Advisory on Wednesday.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny skies turning partly cloudy in the evening. Daytime temps in the lower 80s and evening lows in the lower 40s. Northwest wind 10 - 15 mph in the afternoon.

Today for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Partly cloudy and breezy turning mostly cloudy with isolated showers late. Daytime temps 66 - 76 and evening lows 25 - 35. Southwest wind 15 - 25 with gusts of 40 mph in the afternoon and 60 over the Crest.

Wednesday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Partly sunny skies. High temps in the mid 70s and lows in the upper 30s. Southwest wind 10 - 20 mph with gusts of 40 in the afternoon.

Wednesday for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Mostly cloudy and windy with a chance of rain and snow. Snow level 8,500 feet lowering to 5,500 feet in the evening. High temperature range 52 - 62 and lows 16 - 26. Southwest wind 20 - 30 gusting to 45 in town and 70 mph over the Crest.

That upper level trough will hang over the West Coast through Sunday and keep temps below normal with another chance of precipt in our area Friday into Friday night. By Monday an upper ridge builds in to give us warming temps and dry conditions.
