Life is not fair!

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Life is not fair!

Post by dave54 »

For years I have nurturing maples, ash, boxelder, honey locusts, et al in my yard to get some different Fall colors. Otherwise evergreen and cottonwood yellow dominate the neighborhood. Three weeks ago they were just starting to turn. I left for a three week trip.

While the trip was great, I returned home to barren trees and and leaves in my yard a foot deep. The neighbors all told me it one of the best color shows in years and they really enjoyed my trees. I did not get to see any of it and now I have to clean it all up. :crybaby:

But, your neighbors appreciate you for it. Hope there is some solace in that.

Sorry that you missed out on the show.
The weather here in OC has been so out of whack that my collection of Japanese maples are just turning brown. No reds, yellows or oranges this fall at my house. :(
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I — I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
