High Sierra Topix

For years I have nurturing maples, ash, boxelder, honey locusts, et al in my yard to get some different Fall colors. Otherwise evergreen and cottonwood yellow dominate the neighborhood. Three weeks ago they were just starting to turn. I left for a three week trip.

While the trip was great, I returned home to barren trees and and leaves in my yard a foot deep. The neighbors all told me it one of the best color shows in years and they really enjoyed my trees. I did not get to see any of it and now I have to clean it all up.

But, your neighbors appreciate you for it. Hope there is some solace in that.

The weather here in OC has been so out of whack that my collection of Japanese maples are just turning brown. No reds, yellows or oranges this fall at my house.
