Virginia Lk 2007- The card game that went bad.

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Virginia Lk 2007- The card game that went bad.

Post by rlown »

Just strolling down memory lane, and decided to post this..

After a long day of not fishing because of the nets, we started a fire and started up our pai gow game. Yes there were alcoholic beverages.
So, after a few rounds, Rick decided his hand sucked and threw the cards into the fire. As we sifted out the cards, my friend John looks and Rick and said, "If you didn't know karate, I'd kick your a$$ about now." Rick remembered nothing about the event, but my other friend Steve sent him the burnt deck of cards after the trip as a reminder.. I love backpacking with friends...

We all knew who had the Ace after that little episode. :)

"On this proud and beautiful mountain we have lived hours of fraternal, warm and exalting nobility. Here for a few days we have ceased to be slaves and have really been men. It is hard to return to servitude."
