Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

The upper level trough that brought gusty winds to our area has moved into the Great Basin. Not much of a break in the weather is expected as the next system is already approaching the coast. This system will drop south along and then move inland, creating the possibility of snow showers in the High Country and rain showers in the valleys tonight into Friday.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny turning mostly cloudy in the evening. Slight chance of rain showers tonight. Daytime temps in the lower 60s and evening lows in the lower 30s. Northwest wind 10 - 15 mph.

Today for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Mostly cloudy with isolated snow showers over the ridge tops. Snow level dropping to 7,000 in the evening. Northwest wind 10 - 20 with wind gusts of 35. High temperature range 40 - 50 and evening lows 15 - 25.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Chance of scattered snow showers late. Snow level 6,000 feet. Southwest wind 10 mph. Daytime temperatures in the lower 60s and evening lows in the lower 30s.

Tomorrow for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers through out the day and evening. Snow level 7,000 feet lowering to 5,500 feet late. Southwest wind 10 - 15 gusting to 30 mph. High temperature range 40 - 50 and evening lows 15 - 25.

The next system is progged to move in Saturday night with a chance of snow in the mountains and rain in the valleys Saturday night into Sunday. An upper level ridge builds in on Monday into Tuesday bringing dry and warmer weather.
