Surface cold front moved on through yesterday with gusty winds over much of the area. Recorded wind gusts are as follows: Lone Pine, 42.5; Fort Independence, 52.8; Big Pine, 40.8; Bishop, 32.2; Mammoth, 23.3. Mostly clear skies and windy conditions continue today. Current Wind Advisory remains in place until Thursday.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny and breezy. Daytime temps in the upper 50s and evening lows in the lower 30s. Northwest wind 15 - 25 mph with wind gusts of 45 mph.

Today for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Partly cloudy with isolated snow showers. Northwest wind 15 - 25 with wind gusts of 25 in town and 60 mph over the Crest. High temperature range 35 - 45 and evening lows 10 - 20.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny turning partly cloudy in the evening. Northwest wind 15 - 20 with wind gusts of 30 mph. Daytime temperatures in the lower 60s and evening lows in the mid 30s.

Tomorrow for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Partly cloudy with a chance of snow showers in the afternoon/evening. South wind 15 - 25 gusting to 70 mph over the Crest. High temperature range 40 - 50 and evening lows 15 - 25.

A progressive flow will continue with the next trough pushing through on Thursday into Friday with a chance of snow showers in the High Country and rain in the Valleys. Trough axis moves east on Saturday with lingering mountain showers. Next system moves in on Saturday night with chance of rain and snow into Sunday. Then an upper ridge finally builds in the first part of next week.
