The winds never really happened yesterday as forecast, however today we should see them in spades. A dry, cold upper trough is digging south out of the Eastern Pacific, combined with tight pressure gradients, will give us high winds this afternoon into at least tomorrow morning along with a slight chance of precipt in the High Country. There is a High Wind Warning for both the High Country and the Owens Valley from 2 pm today through 6 am Wednesday morning. Temps will drop 10 to 15 degrees or more by tomorrow.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny and breezy with increased winds expected in the afternoon and evening. Daytime temps in the lower 70s and evening lows in the upper 30s. Northwest wind 10 - 15 increasing to 15 - 25 mph in the afternoon with wind gusts of 50 mph.

Today for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Partly cloudy and windy. West wind 10 - 20 increasing to 20 -35 in the afternoon with wind gusts of 50 in town and 80 mph over the Crest. High temperature range 50 - 60 and evening lows 20 - 30.

Wednesday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny and windy. Northwest wind 20 - 30 mph with wind gusts of 45 mph. Daytime temperatures in the upper 50s and evening lows in the mid 20s.

Wednesday for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Partly cloudy and colder. Southwest wind 15 - 25 gusting to 40 in town. High temperature range 37 - 48 and evening lows 10 - 20.

A progressive flow will continue as the first system leaves our area on Wednesday/Wednesday night. High pressure will have not time to develop on Thursday, as another upper low is set to visit us on Friday with a good chance of precipt in the Valleys and snow showers in the High Country. High pressure finally builds in on Friday giving us warmer temperatures.
