I was wondering where there are good places to take cheap showers after dayhikes or between backpacking trips anywhere in the Sierra. I hope to spend a lot of time there this summer, but don't always want to spring for a motel... any suggestions? Thanks!

The baths at Mono Hot Springs are a righteous end to a week of hiking.

Geez! I thought this was a weather report.

I think a hot shower at Tom's Place costs $3 or so...maybe it was Rock Creek Lake resort...I can't remember which.

Here's a list of places you can take a shower near the Eastern Sierra Trailheads:

There are also showers at Lodgepole. These have truly come in handy.

I'm probably showing my age. But I remember the concessionair camps in yosemite backcountry used to let you pay for a shower. I remember taking one at Glen Aulin once but having nothing but stinking clothes to put on. I also remember sneaking into the showers at Tuolume Meadows. This was in the early 60's though.

I wasn't aware that old rangers showered? Is this one more requirement I missed?

Both Cedar Grove and Grant Grove have showers operated by the concessionaire as well.

Anybody know if there's a place to get a shower near Cherry Lake? My girlfriend thanks you in advance. ;)

Adding a couple to the list:

Cedar Grove (kind of dingy, and they close between 1 and 3 pm) in Kings Canyon NP.

Wishon Resort, for trips out of Wishon or Courtright areas.
