Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

Broadcast Times 12:30pm & 5:30pm M - F

Strong, fast shortwave still forecast to move into our area on Wednesday into Thursday with chance of showers in the High Country and the Valley through Thursday morning. Increased winds will accompany this system to possible advisory levels. Temps will drop 10 degrees or more on Wednesday and Thursday. Until then, we will see fair skies through out our area and breezy conditions.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies during the day, turning partly cloudy in the evening. Northwest wind 10 -15 mph with gusts of 35 mph in the afternoon. High temperatures in the mid/upper 70s and evening temps in the mid 30s.

Today for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Sunny and breezy turning partly cloudy in the evening. West wind 15 - 25 gusting to 35 in town and 50 mph over the Crest later in the day. High temperature range 52 - 62 and evening lows 20 - 29.

Wednesday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny during the day, turning mostly cloudy in the evening with a chance of rain showers. West wind 10 - 15 mph gusting to 35 mph in the afternoon. Daytime temperatures in the mid 60s and evening lows in the lower 30s.

Wednesday for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Cloudy and breezy with a chance of rain and snow. Snow level 6,000 feet. Southwest wind 10 - 20 in the morning and 20 - 30 mph in the afternoon, gusting to 60 mph over the Crest. High temps 40 - 50 and evening lows 13 - 23.

Ridging builds in on Friday ahead of another approaching system on Saturday. There will be a slight chance of showers in the High Country, then on Sunday things clear out and temps warm back up again as high pressure re-builds into Tuesday.
