Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

There will be a continued risk of showers and thunderstorms over the upper elevations and the High Country through Sunday; maybe even a few snow flurries above 8,000 feet added into the mix. In addition, there is always a chance of an isolated shower or two in the Valleys. Otherwise, mild temperatures and partly sunny skies will be with us through the weekend.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Partly sunny with high level clouds. Slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms. High temperatures in the low 80s and evening temps in the mid to upper 40s. Light wind.

Today for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Mostly sunny turning partly cloudy later in the day. Chance of showers and T-storms in the afternoon. Daytime temperature range 57 - 68 and evening lows 33 - 42. Southwest wind 10 mph.

Saturday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Partly sunny with plenty of high clouds. 30% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Daytime temperatures in the upper 70s and evening lows in the mid 40s. Light wind becoming southwest wind 10 -15 mph.

Saturday for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Mostly cloudy with a chance of scattered showers and afternoon thunderstorms. Chance of snow showers through the evening. Temperature range 57 to 66 and lows 32 - 41. West wind 10 - 15 mph gusting to 30.

Flat ridging builds in on Monday and we should see clearing skies and warming temperatures in the Owens Valley through Thursday. Mammoth and the High Country can expect an increased chance of showers on Tuesday into Wednesday then clearing on Thursday.
