Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

Flat upper ridge remains along the west coast today, however sub tropical moisture is moving up from the south toward Central California and will most likely overspread the area including the Sierra Crest later today into tomorrow. Thus, slightly cooler temps today with lots high level clouds in the Owens Valley and Mammoth with a slight chance of showers on Thursday in High Country.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Partly sunny with mid and high level clouds, turning mostly cloudy this evening. Highs in the upper 70s and lows in the mid 40s. Northwest wind 10 - 15 mph in the afternoon.

Today for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Mostly cloudy. Southwest wind 10 - 15 mph in the afternoon. Daytime temperature range 55 to 65 and lows 25 - 35.

Thursday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Partly sunny with continued mid and high level clouds turning mostly cloudy in the evening. Daytime temperatures in the upper 70s and evening lows in the lower 40s. Southeast wind 10 - 15 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers. Temperature range 60 to 70 and lows 25 - 35. East wind 10 mph in the afternoon.

On-going risk of showers along the Crest and into the High Country Friday and Saturday, with the possibility of T-storm activity in the afternoon. The Owens Valley should stay mostly dry through this period. Ridging will re-establish itself on Monday into Tuesday. Temps should remain a few degrees above normal.
