Tracks to nowhere...

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Tracks to nowhere...

Post by mountaineer »

I took this picture the other day in the Carrizo Plain. I don't think the picture would be worth looking at without the tracks leading into the distance lending perspective, almost three-dimensional, to the shot. Anybody else have similar ones? This actually turned out better than I envisioned it when I took it.

Thanks, blazer and trekker. That shot was with my 15-30 zoom and Velvia 40 slide film.

I don't know if I agree with you on the shot not being worth looking at (that's pretty critical!!) without the tracks, but I see what you mean, it definately adds depth and dimension. Really great shot.

Here is one where the jet contrail actually came in handy. It adds to the depth of the photo:
