Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Mostly sunny today as high pressure builds in over our area. Dry and warmer conditions will prevail with blue skies and light breezes.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny skies with peak daytime temperatures in the lower 70s and evening lows in the mid 30s. Light wind.

Today for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Mostly sunny with high temperature range 55 to 65 and lows 22 - 28. North wind 10 mph.

Saturday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny conditions. Highs in the lower 70s and lows in the mid 30s. Light wind during the day becoming Southwest to 10 mph in the evening.

Saturday for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Sunny. High temperature range 60 - 70 and lows 24 to 35. West wind 10 mph.

For the weekend, the ridge of high pressure will stay planted over Central California Saturday, then flatten a little on Sunday as a fairly strong shortwave trough begins to move across the Pacific Northwest. Right now it looks like the best chance for rain in the Owens Valley and snow in Mammoth and the High Country will be Monday night into Tuesday. There will be much cooler temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday.
