Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

Broadcast Times 12:30pm & 5:30pm M - F

A secondary low will slide through our area this morning, keeping a chance of snow showers in the High Country and rain showers in the Owens Valley through at least this morning. As of 8 am this morning, Mammoth has picked up 4 - 6 inches of new snow. Thunderstorm activity is possible as well.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly cloudy with clearing skies later today. There will be a 40% chance of rain and snow showers this morning. Snow level at 6,000 feet early today. Cooler with peak daytime temperatures in the lower 60s and evening lows in the lower 30s. Northwest wind 10 -20 gusting to 30 mph.

Today for Mammoth: Mostly cloudy becoming partly cloudy tonight. Snow showers this morning. Snow level 5,500 feet. Daytime temperature range 42 - 52 and evening lows 15 to 27. North wind 15 - 20 gusting to 25 in town and 50 mph over the Crest.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny. Highs in the upper 60s and lows in the upper 30s. Northwest wind 10 - 15 mph.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Sunny. High temperature range 50 - 60 and lows 15 to 25. North wind 10 mph.

A dry and warmer pattern will begin Thursday through the weekend as a Pacific ridge sets up over California. That pattern will change on Monday and Tuesday as a deep trough pushes into our area bringing cooler temperatures and the possibility of snow in the High Country and rain in the Owens Valley.
