An incoming Pacific trough will make shore this morning and begin to effect our area by midday. This is not a well organized system and I expect only a few inches of snow in Mammoth and the High Country. The Owens Valley still has a 20% chance of rain showers later today. The trough should eject east tonight into Wednesday, ending any chance of showers except some up slope activity in the High Country. I expect strong winds over the Crest today into tomorrow.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Partly sunny becoming mostly cloudy tonight. There will be a 20% chance of rain showers later today and tonight. Cooler with daytime temperatures in the lower 60s and evening lows in the lower 30s. Northwest wind 10 -15 gusting to 25 mph tonight.

Today for Mammoth: Mostly cloudy and breezy. Isolated rain and snow showers today and tonight Snow level lowering to 5,500 feet in the evening. Daytime temperature range 42 - 52 and evening lows 15 to 27. Southwest wind 15 - 20 gusting to 35 in town and 60 mph over the Crest.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Partly cloudy becoming mostly clear later in the day. Highs in the mid 60s and lows in the mid 30s. Northwest wind 10 - 15 mph in the afternoon.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of snow showers. High temperature range 40 - 50 and lows 15 to 25. Northwest wind 15 - 20 gusting to 60 mph over the Crest.

Dry and warmer conditions will prevail on Thursday and Friday then a Pacific ridge builds in on Saturday and Sunday with a continuation of fair weather. Right now, the next system looks to be due into our area on Monday into Tuesday with a chance of precipitation in the Valley and snow in the High Country.
