WEATHER FORECAST 3/16/07 | High Sierra Topix

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

This will be a "go do it weekend" for both the Owens Valley and the High Country. A very strong upper ridge over the Eastern Pacific will maintain dry and warm conditions in our area with afternoon temperatures a few degrees warmer than yesterday. High temperature records could fall once again for the Owens Valley and Mammoth. Low relative humidity levels of 5 - 15% will be the order of the day in most areas.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies. Daytime temperatures will be in the lower 80s and evening lows around 40. Southwest wind 10 mph in the afternoon.

Today for Mammoth: Clear blue skies. Temperature range 65 - 75 and lows 28 - 39. Southwest wind 10 mph becoming light in the evening.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny with highs in the lower 80s and lows around 40. Southwest wind 10 -15 mph in the afternoon.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Clear skies. Daytime temperature range 65 - 75 and evening lows 26 - 35. Southwest wind 10 - 15 mph becoming light in the evening.

Temperatures will gradually cool down Monday through Wednesday as a weak upper level trough tries to move into our area. There will be a chance of showers for both the High Country and the Owens Valley on Monday night into Tuesday. Warm and dryer weather returns to our area on Thursday as high pressure builds in overhead.
