Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley
Provided by Dennis Mattinson
Forecast Specialist for the Sierra Wave 92.5 / 96.5 FM
Broadcast Times 12:30pm & 5:30pm M - F

A strong upper level ridge of high pressure over Southern California combined with a westerly flow, will set up the possibility of record high temperatures for the town of Mammoth and locations within the Owens Valley. For those folks traveling to Death Valley this week, I expect daytime temps to be in the low 100's Tuesday and Wednesday, cooling slightly by the weekend.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies and possible record high temperatures. Daytime temperatures in the low 80s and evening lows in the mid 30s. Southwest wind 10 mph.

Today for Mammoth: Sunny. Temperature range 66 - 76 and lows 26 - 36. West wind 10 mph.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny with highs in the low 80s and lows in the upper 30s. Northwest wind 10 -15 mph.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Clear skies. Temperature range 65 - 75 and evening lows 25 - 35. West wind 10 - 15 gusting to 50 over the Crest.

Upper level ridge off the west coast will continue to keep things dry and give us above normal temperatures through at least Saturday.
