Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

Forecast Specialist for the Sierra Wave 92.5 / 96.5 FM
Broadcast Times 12:30pm & 5:30pm M - F

A series of weak shortwaves will move across our area bringing with them some high and mid level clouds with lots of sunshine in between. These systems will contain very little moisture, but there is always a chance of a few sprinkles in the Owens Valley and isolated snow showers in the High Country today and tomorrow. Temperatures will warm up a bit.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the lower 30s. Light wind.

Today for Mammoth: Partly cloudy with isolated snow showers in the morning. Temperature range 48 - 58 and lows 5 - 15. Southwest wind 10 - 15 gusting to 30 mph over the Crest.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny with highs in the lower 70s and lows in the lower 30s. Light wind.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Partly cloudy. Temperature range 50 - 60 and evening lows 25 - 35. Southwest wind 10 mph gusting to 45 over the Crest.

A upper level trough will try to move through our area Wednesday, but once again it will contain limited moisture. There will be a 10 % chance of precipt. in our area. Thursday, things begin to dry out as an upper level ridge builds in and strengthens through the weekend.
