Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

Broadcast Times 12:30pm & 5:30pm M - F

The snow level has lowered this morning behind the passing front and storm totals at 8am this morning for the area include: 35 inches of snow on the mountain in Mammoth, .05 inch of snow in Big Pine, .005 inch of rain in Bishop, .004 inch of rain in Independence, .007 inch of rain in the Alabama hills. Yesterday at 2pm, the Independence EPA Met Station recorded a wind gust of 74.1 mph. Snow will taper off this morning before a second shortwave passes through tonight giving the High Country another shot of the white stuff.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of rain and snow showers this morning. Snow level at 4,000 feet. This evening there will be a 20% chance of rain and snow showers with the snow level lowering to 3,500 feet. Highs in the mid 40s and lows in the mid 20s. Northwest wind 10 mph.

Today for Mammoth: Mostly cloudy with snow showers off and on through out the day and evening. Temperature range 30 - 40 and lows 7 - 16. Southwest wind 10 - 20 gusting to 30 in town and 80 over the Crest.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Partly sunny with a 20% chance of rain and snow flurries. Highs in the mid 40s and lows in the lower 20s. West wind 10 - 15 mph.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Temperature range 30 - 40 and evening lows 5 - 15. Southwest wind 15 - 20 gusting to 40 over the Crest.

An Eastern Pacific ridge will build in on Thursday for dry and warmer conditions through the weekend.
