Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect for the High Country from tonight through early tomorrow morning, as a deep upper low off the Pacific Northwest coast starts to move inland today. There is quite a bit of cold air and moisture associated with this system and we should get as much as 2 - 3 feet of powder in the upper elevations on Monday night through Wednesday morning. High winds will develop with this system. The Owens Valley should see breezy conditions and some precipitation as well.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny and breezy with a northeast wind 15 - 25 gusting to 40 mph. Daytime temperatures will be in the mid 50s and evening lows in the low 30s.

Today for Mammoth: Mostly cloudy with scattered rain and snow showers. Temperature range 30 - 40 and lows 6 - 15. Southwest wind 10 - 20 gusting to 30 in town and 90 over the Crest.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly cloudy with a 50 % chance of rain and snow showers in the morning. Snow level around 4,500 feet. There will be a 20% chance of rain and snow in the late evening with the snow level lowering to 3,500 feet after midnight. North wind 10 - 15 mph. Highs in the upper 40s and lows in the mid 20s.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Mostly cloudy with snow likely off and on during the day and evening. Temperature range 30 - 40 and evening lows 16 - 26. Southwest wind 15 - 25 gusting to 40 in town and up to 90 mph over the Crest.

An Eastern Pacific ridge will begin to build in with the start of dry conditions on Thursday through the weekend.
