Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

Trough axis is shifting east out of our area today with only a chance of snow showers in Mammoth this morning and a few scattered rain showers in the Owens Valley. Snow totals at the main lodge in Mammoth this morning were 15 inches with more on the mountain. A shortwave ridge will build in today and tonight giving us generally dry conditions in the Valley and only a slight chance of scattered snow in the High Country.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Partly cloudy in the morning turning mostly clear in the afternoon. Daytime temperatures will be in the upper 40s and nighttime lows in the mid 20s. Northwest wind 10 - 15 with occasional gusts of 30 mph.

Today for Mammoth: Mostly cloudy with scattered snow showers mainly in the morning. Temperature range 30 - 40 and lows 6 - 16. West wind 10 - 20 gusting to 30 in town and 50 over the Crest.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny with highs in the low 50s and lows in the upper 20s. Light wind.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Mostly cloudy with a very slight chance of scattered snow. Temperature range 36 - 45 and evening lows 16 - 26. Southwest wind 15 - 25 gusting to 40 in town and up to 90 mph over the Crest late in the afternoon.

Saturday night into Sunday a weak shortwave trough moves in to give us a slight chance of snow showers in Mammoth and scattered rain showers in the Owens Valley. A deeper low out of the Gulf of Alaska moves in on Monday giving us a much better chance of precipitation through Tuesday.
