WEATHER FORECAST 2/20/07 (AM)

Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

Broadcast Times 12:30pm & 5:30pm M - F

An upper ridge of high pressure will build in over our area today and provide us with generally sunny skies and mild conditions with temperatures near normal for this time of year.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Lots of sun with high temperatures in the lower 60s and lows in the mid 30s. Wind 10 - 15 mph.

Today for Mammoth: There will be tons of sun during the day turning partly cloudy this evening. Your temperature range will be 45 -55 with lows 15 - 25. North wind 10 - 15 gusting to 30 in town 70 over the Crest in the afternoon.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny skies during the day becoming partly cloudy in the evening. High temperatures will be in the lower 60s and lows in the lower 30s. Wind will be light at 10 mph.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Cloudy skies and windy with a chance of snow in the afternoon. Snow levels will be about 6,000 feet in the late evening. Temperature range 44 - 54 with lows 16 - 25. South wind 20 - 30 in the afternoon with gusts of 50 in town and 100 mph over the Crest.

An approaching weather system out of the Gulf Alaska will flatten and weaken the ridge on Wednesday giving us a chance of rain in the Owens Valley and snow in Mammoth Wednesday night through Friday. This should be a fairly cold storm with the possibility of snow levels dropping down to 3,500 feet on Friday. Right now the weekend looks to be dry.
