Heavenly ski resort to cut old growth trees for new lifts

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

This is very upsetting to me   I wonder how much the dollar amount that Heavenly paid to TRPA for them to win...I bet it was a pretty hefty sum! Both Heavenly and TRPA as well as the Forest service don't care enough about the environment and those trees..or this would not have passed. All Heavenly would have had to do is raise the lift ticket to two dollars and in Three years they would have had enough money for alternative 4A the kinked lift! It's disgusting especially here in Tahoe that money means more than protecting the environment and a stand of very old trees!
How very sad this is especially when there were other ways to solve it.
Here is the article from the tribune...hope I get to post
