Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley
Provided by Dennis Mattinson
Forecast Specialist for the Sierra Wave 92.5 / 96.5 FM
Broadcast Times 12:30pm & 5:30pm M - F

An upper ridge will continue to reside along the West Coast, giving us dry, breezy conditions and mostly clear skies through Saturday.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Lots of sun with warmer temperatures. High temperatures will be in the upper 60s and lows in the lower 30s. North wind 10 - 20 mph.

Today for Mammoth: Blue bird skies. Your temperature range will be, highs 45 - 58 and lows 15 - 25. North wind 10 gusting to 50 over the Crest.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny blue skies. High temperatures in the upper 60s and lows in the mid 30s. Wind will be light at 10 mph.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Sunny and a little warmer. Your temperature range will be, highs 50 - 60 and lows 18 - 29. Southeast wind 10 - 15 with occasional gusts of 50 over the Crest.

The West Coast ridge gets knocked down on Sunday in response to an Eastern Pacific trough. This will be a moderately cool system so there is a chance of snow levels dropping down to 5,000 feet as it pulls through Monday night. We can expect rain in the Owens Valley and snow showers in Mammoth through Monday then clearing on Tuesday and Wednesday, before a wetter system moves through our area at weeks end.
