In the short term, the weather will remain dry with some high clouds streaming over the West Coast ridge of high pressure. But that ridge will start to flattened as a low pressure system moves into the Pacific NW on Tuesday.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies with some with some high clouds. Daytime highs will be in the upper 60s or even the low 70s with lows around 30. Northwest wind 10 - 15 mph.

Today for Mammoth: Mostly sunny becoming partly cloudy in the evening. Highs in the low 60s and lows in the mid 20s. Gusty conditions late in the evening to 30 mph.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny during the day, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 60s and lows in the upper 20s. South wind 10 -15 mph.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Partly cloudy with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the lower 20s. South wind 10 - 15 gusting to 30 in town and 50 mph over the Crest.

The door to a wetter pattern looks like it is opening starting on Wednesday night through the weekend, as upper level shortwave energy begins to direct sub tropical moisture into our area. We could see significant precipitation and snow levels above 8,000 to 9,000 feet, particularly Friday into the weekend.
