Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley
Provided by Dennis Mattinson

Broadcast Times 12:30pm & 5:30pm M - F

Strong west coast ridge of high pressure will remain in place, continuing the trend of clear skies and warming temperatures through Tuesday.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies with daytime temperatures in the low 60s and nighttime temperatures in the lower 20s. North wind 10 - 15 mph.

Today for Mammoth: Sunny. Highs in the low 40s and lows in the mid teens. Southwest wind 5 - 10 mph.

Saturday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Clear. Highs will be in the lower 60s and lows in the mid 20s. North wind 10 mph.

Saturday for Mammoth: Sunny with highs in the low 50s and lows in the lower 20s. West wind 10 mph.

A Pattern shift should take place by Wednesday as an upper trough over the Eastern pacific tries to under cut the ridge. What this means is increasing clouds and a chance of precipitation for Mammoth and the High Country from Wednesday through the end of next week.
