Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley
Provided by Dennis Mattinson
Forecast Specialist for the Sierra Wave 92.5 / 96.5 FM

That upper low that's been hanging around the southern California coast continues to sink slowly into the east. As it does, clearing skies will develop with dry conditions over mammoth and the Owens Valley.

Today for Mammoth: Sunny blue skies with daytime temperatures in the upper 40s and nighttime temperatures in the low teens. Wind will be light.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly clear. Highs in the mid 50s and lows in the lower 20s. North wind around 10 mph.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Sunny. Highs will be in the upper 40s and lows in the upper teens. North wind light and variable.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny skies with minor amounts of cirrus overhead. Lows in the mid 20s and highs in the mid 50s. There will be a northwest wind around 10 mph.

An upper ridge of high pressure will build in from the Eastern Pacific on Thursday through the weekend with a few very weak impulses bringing occasional high clouds over the Crest. Otherwise we can expect mostly clear skies, dry conditions and a warming trend through Sunday.
