Forecast for Mammoth and the Owens Valley

As we spoke of last Friday, if the cut off low spinning off the coast of California picked up moisture from the Pacific, then Mammoth and the High country would probably see snow showers on Sunday. Indeed, that's what happened and Mammoth picked up 2 inches of the white stuff, with the Alabama Hills getting 0.15 inches of rain. That low is now drifting in a southwest direction today before it begins to slide eastward on Tuesday, creating the possibility of snow showers in Mammoth and rain showers in the Owens Valley.

Today for Mammoth: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of isolated snow showers. Daytime highs in the low 40s and nighttime lows around 16. Wind will be light.

Today for Bishop and the Owens Valley: Partly cloudy with highs in the lower 50s and lows in the upper 20s. Southeast wind 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Continued cloudy skies with a slight chance of snow showers. Highs for Tuesday will be in the low 40s and lows in the upper teens. Light Wind.

Tomorrow for Bishop: Mostly cloudy with a chance of scattered rain showers. Highs will be in the lower 50s and lows in the mid 20s. Southeast wind 10 mph.

Re-amplified upper ridge of high pressure on Wednesday will give us dry weather through Friday.
