Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Owens Valley / Mammoth Weather Forecast
Provided by Dennis Mattinson
Forecast Specialist for the Sierra Wave 92.5 / 96.5 FM

A cut off low has parked itself off the northern CA coast and should remain there through Saturday. Main effects of this low will be a gradual cooling trend and some high clouds spreading over our area, particularly Mammoth and the High Country.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies with high temperatures in lower 60s and lows in the mid 20s. Wind light and variable.

Today for Mammoth: Partly cloudy with highs in the low 50s and lows around 15. Southwest wind 10 mph after midnight.

Saturday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Clear skies becoming partly cloudy late with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon wind 10 mph.

Saturday for Mammoth: Partly cloudy skies with daytime temps in the upper 40s and evening temps around 14. Light wind.

As that low draws mositure from the pacific, there is a slight chance of scattered snow showers in Mammoth and the High Country on Sunday. Otherwise, we will have partly cloudy skies and dry conditions through Tuesday.
