Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Owens Valley / Mammoth Weather Forecast
Provided by Dennis Mattinson

That upper low that moved through our area on Wednesday, is still on the move southward then it will kick out to the east on Friday. In its place an upper level ridge of high pressure will build in over our area Saturday giving us dry conditions and more moderate temperatures.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny blue skies with high temps in the low 50s and low temps in the mid teens. North wind at about 10 mph.

Today for Mammoth: Clear skies. Gusty conditions over the the ridges to 50 mph. In town, northwest wind to 10 mph. High temps in the mid 30s and lows in the mid single digits.

Friday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny skies again with daytime temps in the lower 50s and nighttime temps in the upper teens. Northwest wind 10 - 15 mph.

Friday for Mammoth: Clear skies again with high temps in the upper 30s and lows in the lower teens. North wind light and variable.

As that upper level ridge builds in we are going to see temps near normal for Mammoth and the Owens Valley. Right now it looks like dry conditions will prevail through the rest of this week and next.
