CDFW Offers Wilderness First Aid Clinic in Yolo County

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

OCTOBER 22, 2015
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s (CDFW) Advanced Hunter Education Program will offer a wilderness first aid clinic on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 at the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area in Davis.

Participants from beginner to advanced are welcome to attend. Taught by a veteran paramedic and wilderness first aid instructor, this clinic will include hands-on training in the treatment of cuts, broken bones, burns and gunshot wounds, as well as addressing first aid kits and basic survival equipment.

The goal of the clinic is to provide outdoor enthusiasts and individuals hunting in remote locations with the knowledge, skills and ability to make sound decisions in wilderness emergency situations.

The cost is $45 for adults (there is no cost for youths age 17 and under). The clinic hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Space is limited, so please register early. To register or for more information, please visit http://www.dfg.ca.gov/huntered/advanced/ or contact Lt. Alan Gregory at (209) 274-9923.
