Man, that stinks. Anyone have any experience with the pass she fell from? The scree in the pictures looks pretty hairy, but is this pass frequented much?

The pass is very loose scree, have done it twice, once from each side, a chute needs to be followed on the Bishop side, with a heavy pack extreme care needs to be taken. As with any class 2 or 3 pass, if one goes off route, especially with a heavy pack, things can get into class 3 or above very fast, but one can easily loose footing in a steep scree filled chute too, not saying that either of these happened in this case, but they could happen on just about any Sierra pass with similar characteristics.

A risk we all take I guess.

Sad for all involved. On some level, I really prefer tragedies when the person involved was clearly doing something dumb that I would never do. But this seems like it could have been just about anyone.
