Owens Valley / Mammoth Weather Forecast

The passage of yesterday's trough, has created strong northwesterly winds in the Owens Valley and the High Country. Winds were clocked at 52.3 mph at 5:00 am this morning in Independence and 118 mph at 7:00 am over the Mammoth ridge tops. Winds are expected to weaken in all areas by this evening.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Clearing skies and windy. Northwest wind 25 -35 gusting to 50 mph. High temperatures in the mid 40s and lows in the upper teens.

Today for Mammoth: Gradually clearing skies, cold and windy. North winds 15- 25 gusting to 40 mph in town and +100 over the Crest. High temps will be in the upper 20s and lows near zero.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Sunny with decreasing wind. Northwest wind 10 - 15 mph. High temps in the low 50s and low temps in the upper teens.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Clear skies with decreasing wind. High temps in the upper 30s and lows in the mid teens. Northwest wind 10 - 20 mph.

High pressure builds in on Friday through the weekend, giving us mostly clear skies and a slight warming trend. That ridge then flattens as a shallow trough moves into our area Monday.
