Last nights fast paced trough was responsible for snow levels ranging from 5 inches in the town of Mammoth to trance amounts in the Alabama Hills. That trough will exit our area this morning, leaving clearing skies, dry conditions and a slight warming trend. Windy conditions will increase behind the exiting trough.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny with high temperatures in the upper 40s and lows in the upper teens. North wind 10 -20 mph.

Today for Mammoth: Partly cloudy with northwest winds 10 – 20 gusting to 30 mph. Daytime temps will be in the upper 30s and evening temperatures will drop to the mid single digits.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny with a southeast wind 10 – 15 mph. High temperatures will be in the low 50s and evening temps will be in the low 20s.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Partly cloudy with a west wind 15 – 20 mph. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 40s with evening temps rising a bit to the low to mid teens.

An upper ridge builds in on Friday afternoon, giving us dry conditions through the weekend. That ridge then flattens on Sunday night as low pressure from the Pacific Northwest begins to move across California and into our area. Christmas Day will see a chance of snow in Mammoth and the High Country with only partly cloudy skies in the Owens Valley.
