Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Today for Mammoth: Cloudy with a chance of rain and snow in the afternoon. Snow level will be 7,000 feet lowering to 5,500 feet in the evening. Daytime temps upper 30s dropping down to the mid teens at night. West winds 15 – 25 gusting to 50 mph and 80 mph over the Crest.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly cloudy in the morning with a 20% chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly sunny in the afternoon with high temps in the upper 40s and evening temps in the upper teens. North winds 20 – 30 gusting to 40 mph.

An upper ridge builds in on Friday afternoon and amplifies through the weekend. This should give us a good chance for dry weather through Saturday and Sunday. An upper low will then move into Northern California Sunday night into Monday, giving the Mammoth and the High Country a good shot at snow on Christmas day
