Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

FORECAST 12.01.06

Owens Valley Weather Forecast
Provided by Dennis Mattinson,
Forecast Specialist for the Sierra Wave
& Fort Independence EPA Met Station

December 01, 2006

Upper level ridge over Central California will remain in place over the weekend. This will create continued cool temps in the Owens Valley due to diminishing daylight periods and the lack of any mechanism to scour cold air out of the Owens Valley. Little change in the forecast is expected for the next few days.

Today: Mostly sunny in Bishop and the Owens Valley. We can expect daytime temps to be in the mid 50s and evening temps to be in the low 20s. Winds will be light and variable.

Tomorrow: Continued clear skies with light winds. Evening temps will be in the upper teens and daytime temps will be in the mid 50s.

Sunday through Thursday: Dry weather over the Owens Valley will continue under an upper level ridge. Temperatures raising a bit to near seasonal norms starting on Tuesday.
