Hiking all the trails, Sierra?

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

True. And GPS tracks are too frequently wrong. You know this when you are in SAR and two GPS units say one way, and the other two say another, and all of them are the same make and model, same mapset, same settings, same coordinates.

The inventory of trails would likely be dated in a few years as well. Especially as trails are disappearing in some areas due to lack of use and trail maintenance. Or, in some areas there are multiple trails that have developed to the point that it's up for grabs which one is the real one. How do you determine which faded trail through a meadow is the real one?
