FORECAST 11.16.06

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

FORECAST 11.16.06

Post by dmatt »

Forecast: Owens Valley & Adjacent High Country
Fort Independence EPA Met Station
EPA Site No: 06-027-1028
0735 PST 16 Nov 2006

All:

Discussion: Flat ridge across our area today with a shortwave trough just crossing the northern portion of CA on Friday. Some clouds and a very slight possibility of moisture High Country, Yosemite north on Friday. Upper ridge rebounds Friday night with dry conditions through the weekend.

Today: Clear. Temps mid 60s / mid 30s. Winds NW light and variable.

Tomorrow: Clear skies. Temps mid 60s / mid to upper 30s. Winds SW light and variable.

Outlook: Models still differ on the amount of moisture from a trough out of the Gulf of Alaska mid next week. Therefore I am putting in a dry forecast Monday and Tuesday until there is more consensus. Probably a cooling trend ahead of that trough mid week.
