Just wondering what gear you all got this holiday season?

I got myself a new pair of pants for backpacking - last year's pair is put together with dental floss and is losing cohesion rapidly.

We got a new house with a room just for gear. It's nearly organized. My Significant Alien got himself a new Tarptent, which is a big accomplishment for him - he's too tall for the majority of the tents on the market and tends to go cheap as he can get.

I've been giving myself x-mas presents over the past few months. None of them made it under the tree.
New Tarptent Moment DW
New sleeping bag (earlier this summer, so maybe it doesn't count for the question)
New kitchen (canister stoves, pots, utensils)
Steripen Classic

Oh yeah, just this morning I got a great deal on a new Gregory Baltoro 75, so I pushed the YES button. I've been punching out too much overtime not to imbibe in an equipment overhaul. I am no longer a relic of the '80's.

Went on a fishing trip with my wife's cousin last summer and he laughed at my rig. I originally bought it used in high school. He called it a collectible antique.

So he bought me a new ultra lite weight rig that breaks down into daypack size.

MicroSpikes and a couple books: Nevada Peaks and Hot Springs of Nevada and California. I bought myself an after Christmas sale Six Moon Designs "Lemon to Lemonade" 2P tent.

A couple of items from Vargo to play with. The Decagon titanium alcohol stove, windscreen, and 700mL trekking mug. Unfortunately, the mug and stove are not compatible, but had good results with a Sierra Club style cup and a Trangia 28 pan sitting directly on the burner.

Am always surprised by how Santa knows what gear needs replacing...
(Not really, as I have told my family not to buy me anything...I select my own gear, wrap it, and then act surprised.)
Anyway, this year Santa -
Replaced the sliders on my TT Rainbow -
Got me an Arc'Teryx fleece -
A new Patagonia waterproof shell -
A new Canon ELPH 115 IS camera -
and some art supplies.

Santa really came through...

Santa Really Loves Me!

"The cold never bothered me anyway."
Love the quote! I wish it were true for me. Congratulations on the WM bag!
