SEKI backcountry zones map

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

SEKI backcountry zones map

Post by tomba »

Here is a photo of a map of backcountry zones in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. I couldn't find such map online anywhere. These zones are used on wilderness permits to designate planned camping locations. Often it is hard to find the right name to select for a given location.

This is probably one of the most useful things I've found to help decipher the locations listed for the wilderness permit application! Thank you!

This must be a very old map! It does not show the Jennie Lakes Wilderness, nor the expanded Monarch Wilderness, both created in 1984!
