SEKI Wilderness Plan Question

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

SEKI Wilderness Plan Question

Post by chulavista »

I was looking through some of the SEKI Wilderness Plan documents, and I noticed that there were a disproportionate amount of public comments from people claiming to be employees and customers of the Rock Creek Pack Station. Several of them requested for the fire restrictions to be raised to 10,400 ft in Kings Canyon and 10,800 ft in Sequoia. I'm assuming they have specific places in mind. Does anyone know where they are most likely referring to?

I typically stick to SEKI due to its southern location, and I generally avoid places with horses. I'm confused on the need for massive group and stock size limits. Is Rock Creek one of the responsible outfits?
