Id this "California Woodlands" picture?

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Id this "California Woodlands" picture?

Post by Steve_C »

A friend has asked me to help id this picture. Here's a link to the full-size

I see there are cut stumps along the shore, likely remaining after trees were cut down and removed. There are Canada geese floating right of center. That looks like a beaver's mound on the right.

Any ideas?

More... I did a Google image search, and find that Microsoft uses it as one of their wallpaper images. There is a "c Anthony Hanna" in the corner. I cannot find any Anthony Hanna photographer.

Nice photo.

On this page it says "near Lake Tahoe"

This seems to be the photographer:

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Have a safer backcountry experience by using the HST ReConn Form 2.0, named after Larry Conn, a HST member: http://reconn.org

I believe this is the lake at the Glen Alpine trailhead west of Fallen Leaf Lake. Angora Peak to the left.
