Owens Valley & High Country/Mammoth Forecast

Forecast Discussion: Low pressure continuing to move in a southwest direction, currently causing thunderstorm activity over the Yosemite high country. The low should continue its southwest trek today, setting up the possibility of cooler temps, thunderstorms and light snow in the High Country from Mammoth south. Winds over the Crest could reach +50 mph this afternoon/evening. It looks like Wednesday will be a real nice day in the both the High Country and the Owens Valley, with temps rebounding slightly and clearing skies.
Today & Tomorrow: Today will see cooler temps and the possibility of thunderstorms and a dusting of snow in Mammoth and the High Country. There is a greater chance of snow over the Crest and in the Upper Elevations. Daytime temps in Mammoth and the High Country will be in the upper 40s with lows in the 20s. Snow level this evening will be 7500 feet. Wednesday in the High Country will find clearing skies and highs in the upper 50s with lows in the mid 20s. Gusty conditions will continue with winds out of the NW 15-20 and gusts over the Crest 35-40 mph. The Owens Valley will have partly cloudy skies today with high temps in the upper 60s and low temps in the upper 30s. Wednesday will bring clearing skies with afternoon temps rising up to the low 70s and evening temps in the low 40s.
Outlook: Closed low will continue to spin off the Southern Calif. coast, causing some potential instability, showers and winds over the Crest through Friday. The low then opens up and moves inland by Friday night into Saturday morning leaving our area with a more stable air mass. Thus, the weekend is starting to look good with clear skies and slightly warming temps in Mammoth, the High Country and the Owens Valley.

I live in Meyers outside South Lake Tahoe. I was sure hoping we would get through at least October without it falling at this elevation
