Forecast Discussion: A slow moving area of low pressure along the central California coast will move inland later today, creating the potential for isolated showers and thunderstorm activity over the Sierra Crest this afternoon/evening. Gusty winds of +50 mph are possible over the Crest this afternoon into early Friday morning.

Today & Tomorrow: For the Owens Valley today, clear morning skies with the potential for afternoon t-storms, highs in the low 70s and lows in the mid 40s. For Saturday, partly cloudy skies with lows in the mid 40s and highs in the low 70s. The High Country can expect a mostly clear morning today, shifting to partly cloudy this afternoon with the chance of t-storms and scattered showers. Windy conditions to +50 mph over the crest in the afternoon/evening. High temps will be in the mid 50s and lows in the mid to upper 20s. Saturday will see the continuation of partly cloudy skies and a slight chance of afternoon showers. Highs in the mid 50s with a northwest wind 10-15 mph.

Outlook: Temps will drop to below normal by Monday into Tuesday, then lift a bit Wednesday and Thursday. Some cloudiness over the Crest, otherwise mostly dry and clear conditions through the outlook period.
